how I can help you
I get it, medical coding is tough. The nuances are endless. The fine line between getting paid what you're worth and accidentally overbilling seems impossible to walk at times. It's certainly not what you signed up for; you just want to practice medicine. That's why I created Podiatry Coding Review. My goal is to educate and guide other podiatrists on proper coding, modifier use, and documentation.

Nearly every podiatrist will be subject to an insurance company audit at some point in their career. My job is to make sure you'll pass that audit. I do that by looking at every single one of your charts, codes, and modifiers on a real-time basis to make sure they're perfect before you submit the claim to insurance. In addition to making sure everything is up to snuff, I alert my clients to missed coding opportunities and undercoding.

Real Time Review by a Coding Professional and Podiatrist
Dr. David Shain, a board certified podiatrist and Certified Professional Coder (CPC), will work with you on a continual basis to ensure your charts, codes and modifiers are correct.

Education
The goal at Podiatry Coding Review is not just to tell you if your codes are right or wrong, but rather why they're right or wrong. We want you to become a coding expert too so you won't need our services throughout your entire career.

Revenue Optimization
In order to maximize your revenue, I alert you to missed coding opportunities and undercoding.
ABOUT ME
My name is David Shain. I'm a podiatrist, medical coder, business owner, writer, pilot, foodie, and history buff. I went to medical school at Des Moines University in Iowa, and did my residency at Henry Ford Health in Michigan. I currently reside in Colorado, where I'm in private practice.

I've had a passion for medical coding since I was a student. Yes, I know that sounds like an odd passion. But what can I say, I really enjoy the mind puzzle. My goal with starting Podiatry Coding Review is to take this rather bland but very essential topic and make it a little less daunting for podiatrists.
